Unidentified criminals shot dead a registered medical practitioner (RMP) near his native Aasampur Kupha village under Kishanpur police station area in the district late on September 9 night.

Deputy police superintendent Vidyasagar said here today that outlaws gunned down the RMP Pawan Sutihar (35) when he was returning to the village. He said that the motive behind murder was not immediately known. DSP said the body has been sent for autopsy. A massive manhunt is on to nab the accused, he added.
