Two including doctor killed in road accident

Two people including a government doctor were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a SUV on National Highway 73 near Madhopur village under GB Nagar Tarwara police station area in this district late this evening.
Police said here that Dr Kishlaya Upadhyaya (35) and his friend Pankaj Rastogi (34) were killed on the spot when the SUV carrying a patient to Patna hit their bike. They were returning after distributing birthday cards when the mishap took place. Police said the SUV also overturned following the accident leaving its driver and five others injured.
Sources said while the driver had been admitted to Siwan Sadar Hospital, others had been rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital. Sources said that Pankaj was a native of Khagaria district native and his wife was a teacher at a high school under Mahadeva police outpost area. Dr Upadhyaya was posted at Khajauli Primary Health Centre. The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination, sources added.
