Two blind persons gets back their vision after successful corneal transplantation surgeries

A history of sorts was made at Durgapur today when two blind persons got back their vision after successful corneal transplantation surgeries by Dr Jayangshu Sengupta, Medical Director of Priyamvada Birla Aravind Eye Hospital (M P Birla Group).
The surgeries took place at the Durgapur unit of the Hospital at the City Centre, Ambedkar Sarani, Durgapur. After the surgeries, Dr Sengupta told media persons that the Durgapur unit of the Hospital had taken the initiative to perform the first corneal transplantation surgery in the Durgapur zone to open avenues for people in the region to avail of the corneal service and continue post-surgery follow-up support near home.
