TN health department to promote over 2000 assistant professors in medical colleges
The New Indian Express Nov 10, 2018
Over 2000 medical college assistant professors will soon be promoted to professors to meet the MCI norms of continuing medical education in 23 colleges in the state.
In the last 3 years, the state did not conduct counselling to promote professors to fill up vacancies, because of lack of clarity as to who would be eligible for promotion. The Directorate of Medical Education began re-designation three months ago and completed it this week. Over 7300 posts have been redesignated so far at various levels of assistant professors, associate professors, senior residents, and professors in 23 medical colleges. Among these, around 2000 associate professors have been found to be eligible for promotion to the post of professors.
