UNI Jul 01, 2019

TCG Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd., a Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee group company, organised a blood donation camp on 28th June at their corporate office in Salt Lake, Kolkata.

Considering the alarming situation of scarcity of blood in the city hospitals of kolkata, the noble effort has been taken in association with State Blood Transfusion Council, West Bengal. Around 160 employees from the organisation have volunteered to donate blood. The donors were scrutinized before the blood donation to ensure that the blood was collected from healthy donors. Marking the success of the campaign and the participation from the employees, Anirban Mitra, Head HR and Admin, TCGLS says “There is no great joy than saving a soul. This is the core mantra that drove us to organize this blood donation camp in our premises. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, we not only wanted to support the great cause of saving life by donating blood, but we also wanted to use this platform to create a social awareness amongst our young workforce. I take this opportunity to thank all our employees who came forward to support to this noble cause and supported us to make this initiative a successful one.”

A capillary blood test and a Privilege Card called "Friends in Need" has been issued to all donors by Ruby General Hospital. On this occasion, Dr. Goutam Saha, V.P Chemistry, TCGLS says, “Blood donation camps are organized not only as an activity in an institution but also a prime social responsibility for every one. As we grow up in life, we understand the importance of bonding with our family members, being the most intelligent species in this planet, there is also a need to bond with other fellow humans as well as with nature.

TCGLS in Kolkata has organized the blood donation camp as one of their corporate social responsibilities that demonstrates the bond that we share with our fellow human beings.”
