The Tamil Nadu Health Minister on March 18 said a second person has tested positive for coronavirus.

In a tweet, he said: "#Coronaupdate: #RGGH, Chennai reports the 2nd positive case for #Covid19. The Pt (patient) hails from Delhi, is in isolation & stable is under the observation of the expert team treating #Covid19." The patient is at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital here and his health condition is stable. The first coronavirus patient in Tamil Nadu, a native of Kancheepuram, was discharged from the hospital on March 17.
According to the Health Minister, a total of 189,750 persons has been screened for the virus till March 18 and 2,984 persons are under follow-up monitoring. The state has set up 1,120 beds in isolation wards and 32 persons have been admitted so far.
