Swine flu claims another life in Telangana

Swine flu claimed one more life in Telangana on Monday, taking the toll to eight since January, a health official said.
A 35-year-old man from Shamshabad in Ranga Reddy district died at the government-run Gandhi Hospital here.
With this, the death toll has gone up to 16 since August 2016.
Ten more swine flu patients were undergoing treatment Gandhi Hospital, which is the state's nodal centre for swine flu. They include six children.
According to the Health Department, over 4,300 samples have been tested for H1N1 virus since August 1 last year and of these 413 samples were found positive.
People have been advised to approach the hospital at the first symptoms of the disease such as high fever, sneezing, cough and body ache.
The hospitals have been asked to isolate people having symptoms of swine flu and send their samples to Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) here.
According to the government, there is no need for panic as it has adequate supply of medication and testing kits.
