Students of Government Medical College, Tanda attempt suicide

Two MBBS first year students of Dr Rajinder Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda inflicted injuries on their wrists, in a bid to cut their veins, after an altercation between them on some personal issue, police said on April 19.
DIG Santosh Patial, who is holding the charge of SSP Kangra, told UNI that a boy and a girl of first year from DRPGMC, Tanda had reportedly inflicted injuries on their wrists in their hostel rooms on April 18 evening. They were rushed to the hospital, where they were undergoing treatment.
The DIG said that police has started inquiring into the matter. He said that statements of the two students, other students of the hostel, their parents and other concerned persons was in progress. Mr Patial said no case was registered by the police, but the inquiry was still in progress. Principal of DRPGMC Tanda, Bhanu Awasthi told UNI that the two students belonged to Kullu. He said their parents were called here on Friday. Psychological counselling of the two students was started and will continue, he added.
