South East Asia's smallest baby born in Hyderabad hospital survives

South East Asia's smallest baby weighing only 375 g and born at Rainbow Hospitals, a private children's hospital in Hyderabad has survived miraculously thanks to the excellent care provided by doctors.
The baby girl was born to a Chhattisgarh-based young couple. Announcing this at a press conference held at Hyderabad on July 19, Rainbow Group Hospitals Chairman and Managing Director Dr Ramesh Kancharla said the baby was born premature at 25 weeks gestational, nearly 4 months earlier than expected date, on February 27, 2018. The baby was only 20 cm in length and fit in the palm. She survived as the doctors at the hospital took special care to save her, he added. The baby was discharged from the hospital after admission for 128 days and weighing 1.980 kgs, Dr Ramesh said.
