Raj: Talks between govt, striking docs remain inconclusive

Talks between agitating government doctors and Rajasthan health minister to end the deadlock over 33 demands that has badly hit medical services in the state remained inconclusive tonight.
The in-service doctors went on a mass leave on Monday across the state with resident doctors joining them today, further deepening the crisis.The government called the doctors for second rounds of talks today. The first was held on Tuesday.The meeting began this evening between the core committee members of the all Rajasthan State In-Service Doctors Association and Health Minister Kali Charan Saraf.
"The meeting lasted for an hour, but it remained inconclusive and the deadlock is continuing," an official of the health department said.The in-service government doctors had to go on the mass leave due to adamant attitude of the government, Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors, president, Dr Ravi Jakhar alleged."The government has been apathetic towards the demands of the doctors, therefore we have decided to boycott work for indefinite period in their support," he said.The doctors have 33 demands, including a separate cadre and related with pay grade.
