RailTel in collaboration with NGO Sewa Bharti, launched mobile medicare units in New Delhi to provide doorstep medical services to the poor and needy at various slum areas of Delhi, a statement from the railway PSU said on August 5.
The medicare to be operated by Sewa Bharti, a registered NGO under the societies act, was flagged off by minister of state for railways Suresh Angadi. The mobile dispensary will have a doctor and support staff to provide basic medical care to people, who either cannot afford or visit a hospital due to ill health/financial conditions, at their doorstep. "This is a noble effort from RailTel and Sewa Bharati to provide medical facilities to needy people. There are a number of underdeveloped areas in Delhi which will be benefitted from initiatives like this," Angadi said.
