Ponnam Prabhakar shifted to hospital

Senior Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar who is on hunger strike demanding establishment of a medical college here was shifted to hospital today.
Mr Prabhakar was on a fast since last four days at his residence here, as police did not allow him to do hunger strike at Indira Chowk in the city.
In view of his worsening health condition, Mr Prabhakar was shifted to a local hospital, according to Karimnagar Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy. A case was lodged against Prabhakar for going on a fast, police said.
Earlier, Mr Prabhakar said that the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to establish a medical college in the town in 2014. Even after three years, no steps have been taken to set up Medical college here.
