Police create 35 km green corridor to help transport organs

A 35 km 'green corridor' was created to facilitate two ambulances transporting vital harvested organs, including heart and lungs, traverse busy stretches in the city, authorities said January 11.
The green channel was arranged for transportation of a Heart from Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, a 35-km stretch, in 30 minutes, a police release said. Another was created to enable an ambulance cover a 12 km distance from Yashoda Hospital to Apollo hospital, Jubilee hills, in 12 minutes. The vehicle was transporting lungs, eyes and kidneys from Yashoda Hospital.
