Over dozen doctors & Chief Med Superintendent found to be absent in UP govt hospital during surprise inspection

A surprise inspection conducted at a government hospital in UP on 16 March found more than a dozen doctors including the Chief Medical Superintendent to be absent from duty, and no staff present at the senior citizen section of the hospital.
Over a dozen doctors were found absent from their duty during a surprise inspection conducted in a district hospital here, an official said today. A few employees, who had signed on duty register, were also not present in their respective departments, the official said. During a inspection conducted between 8.15 am to 9.30 am in the district hospital, 14 doctors, including Chief Medical Superintendent V K Gupta, were found absent from their duty, " ADM Ravindra Kumar, who conducted the inspection, said.
No doctor was present on duty in different departments of the hospital, he said, adding the worst part of the hospital management was registration section for senior citizens, where no staff was present. Kumar said, "deduction of one day salary of staff and doctors, who were found absent from their duty, has been recommended."
