UNI Jul 02, 2018

Maintaining the legacy of exceptional performance in competitive examinations, more than 200 students from Chief Minister’s Super-50 coaching centres and winter tutorials established by the School Education Department have qualified the recently held National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination.

This was stated by Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr G N Itoo in Srinagar on July 1. “It is the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students who have worked hard to bring laurels to the State,” he said. He appreciated the efforts of the teachers engaged in these coaching centres.  An official spokesperson said that an orphan student -- Furqaan Ashraf of BHSS Dooru -- has topped the NEET examination in J&K by securing 597 marks.

The Department organized a felicitation ceremony for the meritorious students and other qualifiers of the area. Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah congratulated Ashraf and other successful candidates and appreciated the efforts put by the teachers.
The DSEK participated in the felicitation event through video conference from Srinagar. He congratulated Furqaan on his success and appreciated his hard work. He also congratulated all the successful candidates from the State.

The DSEK said that Ministry of Human Resources Development has appreciated the initiative of the Department of establishing CM’s Super-50 coaching centres for different competitive examinations. He added that Union MHRD will release funds for the establishment of more such coaching centres in the State. He said that in addition to the already established such civil services coaching centres in Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla, one such centre shall be established in each district of Kashmir division.
