Organisation of mega health camps in rural areas beneficial for rural folks: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that the organisation of mega health camps in rural areas will be useful for the rural community as they will have easy access to free medical treatment.
Speaking after inaugurating a day-long free mega health camp organised jointly by state Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan and Gangapur MLA Prashant Bamb at Lasur station about 40 km from here, he said, "Despite the best efforts of the state government to make available a number of free medical treatments for the people living in rural areas, they are deprived of such treatment. Hence, the concept of mega health camps in rural areas is useful for the rural community who wil get medical treatment."
"No one will be deprived of the health benefits as the state government is committed to provide a disease-free healthy life to every citizen of the state," he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mahajan said that around 1 to 1.5 lakh patients were screened by the various expert doctors in the camp."The patients who were advised surgeries during the health camp will get stickers and they can paste the same on the main door of their respective houses and the Health department officials visit them and give them the date of operation and hospital's name for their surgeries later," he added.
In this health camp, expert doctors from different faculties from Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik and experts and senior international level doctors took part and extended medical treatment to poor and needy patients.Apart from this, a number of homeopathic colleges from Aurangabad, Srirampur, Newasa also participated in the mega camp and provided free homeopathic treatment to the patients.Prominent among those who were present on the dias were state Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagade, Aurangabad city Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele and Minister Mahajan among others.
