One died of H1N1 in Kuttippuram, Kerala

One person, infected with H1N1 fever, died in Kottakkal, Kerala on 7th July.
The deceased Noushad (37), a native of Kuttippuram, was under treatment for H1N1 in a hospital in Kottakkal since last week. Also known as Swine Flu, the disease has been found in people having contact with pigs. However, the situation changed since for few years with the flu being inflicted on people having no contact at all with pigs.
Three men and a women inmates of the Government Old Age Home in Kasaragod were admitted in hospital with H1N1 in early June. In the spring of 2009, scientists recognised a particular strain of flu virus known as H1N1. As so many people around the world got sick that year, the World Health Organisation declared the flu caused by H1N1 to be a global pandemic. The health authorities have issued an alert and has geared up measures to check the spread of the dreaded disease.
