Objected for entering ICU, patient, wife assault staff, break equipment

A couple was booked on the alleged charges of assaulting the staff of a private hospital in Bhiwandi, Thane, police said on 31st July.
According to a complaint filed by the head of the hospital, the alleged accused Mustafa Shaikh was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. At 30th July noon, his wife, along with her relatives forcefully entered the ICU. When the hospital authorities objected and asked them to leave the ICU, they allegedly, out of rage smashed monitor screens and broke medical equipment.
An offence under sections 324,323,504,427 of the IPC and also sections 3 and 4 of Maharashtra Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property) Act, 2010, was registered the patient and his wife Asma Mustafa Shaikh, police said. No arrest is made so far.
