Number of Dengue cases rises to 1395 in HP, Bilaspur most affected

Himachal Pradesh which was considered less prone to Dengue epidemic diseases witnessed as many as 1395 cases after outbreak of epidemic in part of Bilaspur district which is most affected and Parwanoo area of Solan district.
State Surveillance Officer of Himachal Pradesh Government Dr. Sonam Negi said in a report of month long data of Dengue in the state that out of 4437 tests were conducted for the fatal viral fever and found 1395 people positive till July 31. He said that on August 24 about 76 patients out of 231 admitted for the fever found infected with the Dengue.
The most cases were pouring from Bilaspur district native place of Union Health Minister JP Nadda. Bilaspur district tops with 684 cases of Dengue followed by Solan 625 cases, Indra Gandhi Medical Colleges Hospital recorded 13 cases of Dengue last week and Dr Rajinder Prasad Medical Colleges got 16 cases and Mandi district 52 cases Una and Sirmaur two.
One person died in Mandi on August 19, 2018. State recorded 287 scrub typhus cases including highest 58 cases in Bilaspur district. As many as 4505 patients were tested for the Scrub typhus in the state out of which 287 were tested positive. Bilaspur recorded highest 84 case of Scrubs Typhus, Sirmaur 44, Himirpur 42, Solan 36, Mandi 21, Chamba 11, Kullu and Una three each. State recorded two deaths of scrub typhus one each in Chamba and Shimla.
