Nipah patient shows signs of improvement

The condition of the college student who tested positive to Nipah is satisfactory and showing signs of improvement.


According to a health bulletin issued by Aster Medicity Hospital where the student is being treated, the patient, who had started eating food, was shifted to a Negative Pressure Room to ensure complete isolation and prevention of spread of infection. Meanwhile, Health Minister KK Shailaja said all circumstances related to Nipah viral infection was under control.

The health department authorities said the blood samples of six patients admitted in isolation wards in Kalamassery Medical College were sent to Virology Institute in Alappuzha and Pune. The number of people who are under observation has increased to 314 as three more found to have been in contact with the patient.
