Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on July 21 announced that the Sarojini Devi eye hospital will be provided with new building complex as well as all types of modern equipment and facilities.

At a review meeting held in Pragathi Bhavan here, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to prepare proposals in this regard. The Chief Minister told them that the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital has a name and popularity country wide and as such it should have new building complex and all the facilities for providing eye care, an official statement said.

The Chief Minister added that the existing Basti clinics in the twin cities are of immense use to the poor people and hence their number needs to be increased. He said these are to be located in slum areas where poor people live in large numbers. He said Governor ESL Narasimhan also on visiting these clinics has a word of praise of their functioning. The said facilities are to be created in the Basti Clinics to provide diagnostic facilities.
