New board of governors to relax norms for DNB doctors to teach at medical colleges

The new board of governors that has replaced the MCI has passed a proposal for relaxing the norms for DNB (Diplomate of National Board) doctors to teach in government medical institutions.
Dr. VK Paul, Niti Aayog Member, and Chairperson of the Board of Governors has mentioned that the new norms will be in effect shortly. The proposal states that DNB doctors who have trained in over 100-bed super- and broad-specialities hospitals and with one additional year of senior residency at an MCI recognised hospital will be eligible to teach at government medical colleges like AIIMS, PGI, and state-run institutions too.
