NEET Tamil medium aspirants get Hindi question papers in TN, exam delayed

Over 100 Tamil medium students who appeared for NEET in an exam centre in Madurai city on May 6 were given the wrong set of question papers, in Hindi instead of Tamil, prompting the CBSE authorities to delay the exam, increasing anxiety among students and parents.
 

 


The students from different parts of Tamil Nadu appeared for NEET were given Hindi question papers instead of bilingual question papers in English and Tamil at Noyes Matriculation School in Narimedu locality, when the examinations began at 1000 hours this morning. The CBSE authorities realized the mistake, when the students brought it to the notice of the invigilator. The students opted for Tamil question paper could not take up the examination on time.

While a majority of the students came out of the exam centre after 0100 PM, some of the parents waiting for the return of their wards were disappointed after their wards did not came out in time. As the CBSE officials refused to divulge the reason, the parents agitated over the attitude of the officials and indulged in heated argument with them.

The CBSE officials later pacified the agitated parents and explained the reason for the delay and assured that all the answer scripts will be evaluated without any issues. After a fuss, the CBSE authorities distributed correct set of question papers and allowed the students to write the exam in two batches. While the first batch 22 of students were allowed to write NEET from 1230 PM to 0330 PM, the second batch consisting of 90 students wrote the exam from 0300 PM to 0600 PM.
