Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the National Cancer Institute constructed by the central government in Badhsa, Jhajjar, is only expansion branch of AIIMS, in which, apart from the treatment of cancer, the provision of running only the OPD of AIIMS was made.

Speaking in the ongoing Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, here today, Mr Vij said that according to the letter of Union Government of January 17, 2012, Haryana Government had provided land in Badhsa for the expansion of additional medical services of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

In this letter, it had been mentioned that apart from cancer treatment, OPD of only AIIMS would be started in Cancer Institute in Badhsa.
He said that in its budget, the Centre Government has decided to open the 22nd AIIMS of the country and first AIIMS in Haryana in village Manethi, Rewari. The state government has started its process of opening it and all its formalities would be completed soon.
