National Workshop on 'Hospital Infenction Control' begins at JIPMER

The second five-day National Workshop on 'Hospital Infection Control' began at Jipmer on Monday.
According to a release, JIPMER's Medical Superintendent Dr. Ashok Sankar Badhe inaugurated the workshop organized by Department of Microbiology and Hospital Infection Control Committee. The workshop is aimed at educating the consultant/faculties and residents on various aspects of Hospital Infection Control and prevention strategies.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Badhe pointed out the importance of Hospital infection control programme in the hospital, especially the surveillance of Hospital Acquired Infection in highly dependent units and implementation of prevention strategies like handhygiene, biomedical waste management.He also mentioned about the significance of Institution specific antimicrobial policy.
This workshop will facilitate the participants to train, implement, establish and augment the infection control programme in their respective host institute. Around 80 National and International participants attended the workshop.
