Nagaland Governor requests medicine dealers to keep vigil on infiltration of sub-standard drugs

The Nagaland Governor P. B. Acharya met a delegation from the Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) at Raj Bhavan on May 21 and asked to keep vigil on infiltration of sub-standard drugs.
According to a statement from NMDA General Secretary Basu Damani today, besides extending his good wishes to the newly elected NMDA team, the Governor had also invited them to Raj Bhavan for a one to one interaction to discuss the association’s activities. The association apprised the Governor about its activities like organising medical camps during epidemics and other health emergencies, keeping medicine prices within the MRP rates, keeping vigil on influx of substandard drugs, checking infiltration of spurious drugs and illegal trade practices, apart from medically helping needy NGOs and organisations.
The Governor appreciated the activities of the association and extended his best wishes to it. He also suggested that the association also contribute to the efforts of the Central Government’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Abhiyan to promote the project. The association assured the Governor that it would contribute its best effort towards this end. The press release extended the association’s gratitude to the Governor for his good wishes and for hosting them, it said.
