MP Health Department to identify and transfer doctors who have not performed surgeries
Times of India Jan 05, 2019
The Madhya Pradesh Health Department has plans to pick government hospital doctors who have not performed any surgeries in the last few years and transfer them to other hospitals or rural areas so they can utilise their skills better.
The issue of surgeons and doctors not having performed surgeries came to light during a surprise inspection held at PC Sethi Hospital, Indore, when an Ophthalmologist was identified for not having performed a single surgery in the last two years. When questioned, the doctor reported that he has been unable to perform surgeries due to the lack of equipment at the hospital. The health department plans to identify more such doctors to place them in district hospitals or camps in rural areas.
