More stringent law will be introduced to punish who attack doctors: Karnataka Chief Minister

Taking strong exception to attack on serving Doctors, Karnataka Chief Minister on 20th June assured to bring in more stringent law to punish those who indulge in such heinous crime.


Speaking after inaugurating newly constructed Operation Theater in KIDWAI Cancer Hospital built with financial assistance by Infosys Foundation in Bengaluru on 20th June, he said that it is paining to note increase in the incidents of attack on serving Doctors. “Such incidents should be condemned by one and all and though there is three year jail term in the 2006 Act in the State, the rules will be further strengthened to ensure protection to Doctors.


Underlining that role of philanthropists are very important in Education and Health field, he said that Infosys Foundation has come forward to extend financial help to upgrade 8 km road in Mydani Village in Karwar District. The State government will extend its full cooperation for such works. Jayadeva Hospital Director Dr C N Manjunath appealed to the State Government and Police to come out with a circular to file charges with non-bailable clause against those who indulge in attacking Doctors.


Minister for Health, in his address lauded the role of Infosys Foundatioin Chairperson Sudha Murthy who has donated for many projects in Health, Education and other fields.
