Mobile clinics pressed into service to control incidence of Dengue: DMHO

As a part of the special drive to control the incidence of Dengue cases in East Godavari district, as many as 31 mobile clinics have been pressed into service.
District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr TSR Murthy told media persons here on Sunday that a special action was initiated in the backdrop of as many as 182 cases of Dengue fever reported in various parts of the district, especially in the urban areas. Attributing the incidence of Dengue cases to the recent heavy rains and also the changes occurred in the seasonal conditions, he said, separate medical camps were being organized wherever the Dengue cases were reported.
`The Mobile clinics would create awareness among the people on the preventive measures in addition to attending to their immediate medical requirements’, he added. Dr Murthy has advised the people to undergo blood tests in cases of suffering from any fever so that effective treatment could be given for the Dengue fevers. He said the Dengue diagnostic Laboratory at the government general hospital here could be utilized for the special blood tests.
Since the Dengue fever is caused by the mosquito bite, Dr Murthy has advised the people to ensure clean environment and also prevent water stagnation in the households and surroundings which are the breeding grounds for the Mosquitoes.
