Puducherry Welfare Minister M Kandasamy on September 21 visited the government general hospital here where people from Pillayarkuppam area in his Embalom Constituency were admitted after affected with a mysterious fever.

As many as 50 people from Pillyarkuppam area were affected with a mysterious fever with symptoms such as fever, body pain and vomiting. Though, treatment was given at the Primary Health centre, the fever was not cured and eight of them including one woman were shifted and admitted to the government general hospital here.

Mr Kandasamy who visited the hospital inquired about their condition and consoled them. Later, he told news persons that a special health camp is being organized at Pillayarkuppam in the wake of outbreak of mysterious fever and the Health Minister was requested to take steps to find out the exact cause and provide proper treatment.
