The Nationalist Congress Party has slammed the services of GVK EMRI (108 Ambulance) in Williamnagar for not being able to take the daughter of its party candidate, to Assam’s main city of Guwahati for treatment due to bad condition of the tyres of the ambulance.
In a statement issued on April 23, NCP working president, Vijay Raj said that the daughter of Late Jonathone N. Sangma suddenly became very ill and was referred to a hospital at Guwahati. “The GVK EMRI Ambulance was called to take the patient to Guwahati and accordingly, an Ambulance (ML01-7514) arrived but officials of ambulance denied to take the patient to Guwahati citing that the tyres of the ambulance are not good and moreover the condition of the Ambulance was not such that it may reach Guwahati,” Mr Raj said.
He added that the wife of Late Jonathone N. Sangma, who also is the NCP Candidate for the Assembly by-election to Williamnagar had to arrange for a private vehicle to take her daughter to Guwahati. Condemning the GVK EMRI authorities for not maintaining their Ambulances , Mr Raj said, “they are fooling the public by just showing their presence in Williamnagar but in reality, not
serving. It seems that the GVK EMRI authorities are disposing their vehicle in the rural areas just to show their presence.”
