Medicos stir: Tribal woman dies due to fever

A tribal woman died in Wayanad district of Kerala on April 16 apparently in view of lack of treatment for the fever she was having, due to the indefinite doctors strike in the state.
The deceased belonged to Thaniyad Vennamatta Colony in this district. The woman who was suffering from fever, reached Manathawady district hospital for treatment on the morning of April 16th but was sent back home after giving medicine as an out-patient, informing her that no bed was available in the hospital to admit her. The victim who fell unconscious on reaching home, breathed her last, on the way to the hospital again. The government doctors in the state were on an indefinite strike demanding withdrawal of enhanced out-patient department time. The strike entered fourth day on April 16.
