Medicine to be given to children on National Deworming Day to make youngster worm free: Haryana Health Minister

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that medicine would be given to children aged between one to 19 years on the occasion of National Deworming Day on February 8 to make each youngster worm free.
A target has been set to cover about 93 lakh children in the state. This was informed in a meeting of the department held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Rajiv Arora on January 31. He said that mop-up round would be carried out on February 14 to cover the left out children on February 8 in which the medicine would be given to all the remaining children.
Under this, he said, all children in government and private schools would be covered. The dose would be given in more than 15,000 government institutions, about 26,000 Anganwadi centres and about 8,000 private schools. He said that the department had covered 77.8 lakh students in the round of dose in August 2018. However, the target is bigger this year. The Asha workers and other employees of the department would assist in achieving the set target, he added.
