UNI May 15, 2019

Maharashtra government has directed the District Collectors not to effect the internal transfers of the Medical Officers-Grade I till May 31, 2019.

In a recent order issued on May 10, the state Public Health Department said that the government is in the process of finalising the transfer of the Medical Officers, which will come into effect as soon as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is lifted. The order further said, "The District Committee headed by the District Collectors is likely to effect internal transfer of the Medical officials. "This will result in dual transfers ending up in several litigations hence the District Collectors have been asked not not to effect transfers of the Medical Officers till end of May 2019," stated the order.
