Maharashtra government de-empanels 9 private hospitals
Times of India Oct 22, 2018
The Maharashtra state government has de-empanelled nine private hospitals in Kolhapur and Sangli from the state government's health insurance scheme (Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana) panel.
The monitoring team conducted raids at 50 hospitals in the two cities over a period of four days. So far, 11 hospitals have been suspended in Kolhapur city for not adhering to the agreements of the scheme, charging patients for treatment, and claiming false reimbursements. The suspended and debarred hospitals will be prohibited from admitting new patients or conducting surgeries under the scheme. The suspension is the first move before the hospitals will be permanently de-empanelled from the scheme.
