KIMS hospital performs first Robotic procedure for Gall Bladder stones

Hyderabad: City-based KIMS hospital at Kondapur today claimed that it has performed the first Robotic procedure for gall bladder stones. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The surgery was performed on a 60 year-old female suffering from gall bladder stones. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vijay Kumar C Bada, Surgical Gastroenterologist and Head of Minimal access and Robotic Sciences Department, who performed Robotic cholecystectomy. said the patient was ambulant within four hours of surgery, and she had food on the same night and was discharged the next day. Explaining the advantages of the Robotic surgery, he said that Robotic services were present in a few and select centres across the country. KIMS Hospitals, a pioneer in introducing advanced technology in medical sciences has instituted DaVinci Robotic equipment to offer the latest and the best technology to the patients of this part of the city. 


Robotic surgery is the latest in the armamentarium, which offers highly skilled procedures being done with least risk and best outcome in the form of completeness of procedure and ease of recovery to the patient,” he said, adding that the patient was recovering well and the facility is looking forward to executing more surgeries under more disciplines.It this robotic surgery, the patient will recover fast and attained with minimal pain, short hospital stay and early return to work, Dr Bada added.
