KCGMCH doctors go on strike after attack on surgeon

Medical services at Kalpana Chawla Medical College and Hospital (KCGMCH) came to a halt on November 19, when doctors went on a strike after a surgeon at the hospital was assaulted by a patient's relatives.
Doctors demanded security measures be strengthened and eventually called off the strike when Dr. Surinder Kashyap, the Director at KCGMCH assured to have PCR van deployed near the emergency ward. The surgeon who was attacked, Dr. Shailander mentioned that on November 15, three people accompanying a patient came into the emergency ward and began attacking him. A complaint has been registered against the 3 accused.
