Kalyan MP tables bill to restrict violence against doctors

A Kalyan MP has recently tabled a bill in the Lok Sabha in a move to curb assaults on doctors and attacks in hospitals.
In the private bill, the MP, Shrikant Shinde has demanded six months to five years of imprisonment against people attacking doctors and a fine of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 5 lakhs for damaging hospital property. Many doctors from Thane have welcomed the bill that was tabled on December 28. The bill has also mentioned that doctors should inform the patients and relatives about the course of treatment in writing, clearly mentioning pros and cons and the risks of the treatment.
