Jipmer to organize symposium on 'The Fundamentals of Animal Research' on Sep 7

Department of Pharmacology, Jipmer is organizing the Symposium on “The fundamentals of Animal Research”, on September 7.
According to a Jipmer release on September 5, the symposium will be a pertinent one at this point of time as it addresses the recent amendments in CPCSEA guidelines for animal experiments and the use of animals in postgraduate training.
Some of the key topics to be covered in this symposium include setting up an animal house facility, toxicological studies using animals and alternatives to animal models in medical research.
A total of 90 delegates including faculty, post-graduate students and Ph D scholars from different regions of India including Puducherry, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will be attending the symposium. By the end of the symposium, the delegates will acquire profound knowledge on how to set up an animal house facility, handling of laboratory animals and mistakes to be avoided while framing the protocols of animal studies.
