JIPMER provides functional artificial hands

The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department, Prosthetic section of JIPMER, Puducherry has provided functional artificial hands and high-tech lower limbs to a 23-year-old man who lost both hands and both legs due to an electrical accident.
According to a Jipmer release on January 2, this was done under the guidance of Dr. Navin Kumar, Additional Professor and Head of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department. The person is currently receiving training in walking and activities of daily living.
JIPMER Director Profe Dr.Rakesh Aggarwal was present on the occasion. The patient was very happy and satisfied on receiving the prosthesis. His family members conveyed their gratitude to the Jipmer Hospital which provided the artificial limbs which would have cost Rs 80,000 in private set up, free of cost.
