JIPMER holds workshop on 'Hospital Infection Control' for nurses

Aimed at educating the nurses from various institutions on different aspects of Hospital Infection Control and Prevention strategies, the Department of Microbiology and Hospital Infection Control Committee, Jipmer held the first three-day National Workshop on 'Hospital Infection Control for Nurses' from July 25.
According to a Jipmer release on July 31, Dr Ashok Shankar Badhe, Medical Superintendent, Jipmer who inaugurated the workshop pointed out about the importance of Hospital Infection Control programme in Hospital, especially the surveillance of Hospital acquired infection in highly dependent units and implementation of prevention strategies like hand hygiene, Biomedical waste and surgical site infection prevention.
He also mentioned about the importance of antimicrobial policy. This workshop will facilitate the participants to train, implement, establish and augment the infection control programme in their respective institute. About 70 participants attended the workshop from different states across the country, the release said
