J&K Health Minister attaches CMO, suspends 16 doctors

Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today conducted surprise inspection of various Urban Health Centres here.
During an inspection at Urban Health Centre, Gujjar Nagar, Talab Khatikan, Sidhra, Bhatindi, Sainik Colony, Shastri Nagar and Talab Tillo, the Minister found the centres closed besides 16 doctors were also found absent from duties. Following zero tolerance yardstick against negligence, absenteeism, the Minister ordered immediate suspension of all the absent doctors and para-medical staff of closed UHCs. Mr Bhagat said that action would also be initiated against erring officials under rules in future too.
The Minister on the spot ordered attachment of CMO Jammu while Dy CMO shall hold the charge of CMO. During his visit, the Minister directed the concerned medical officials to regularly maintain the attendance register and duty rosters to ensure proper medicare to the patients. He also took stock of availability of facilities being provided to the patients and asked to stock adequate medicines to cater patient’s need.
