J&K Congress expresses concern over rising dengue cases

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday expressed concern over rising cases of dengue in this winter capital of the state.
"There is total mishandling and callousness of the State health authorities so far to deal with the alarming situation emerging on account of spread of dengue disease," Ravinder Sharma, Chief Spokesperson, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee said in a statement here. He said that it was a wake-up call for the Government to immediately understand the gravity of the situation and take all sorts of required measures in this regard to save the human lives. Mr Sharma said that situation was very alarming than being reported in the media and the disease has spread in various parts of the city and other areas of Jammu province but the authorities were in a deep slumber and adequate measures have not been taken so far to check its spread and deal with the situation.
He criticised the non serious and casual approach of the government towards the grave situation and there are still no serious efforts being made, in this regard. ‘’There are large number of patients being treated and referred to Ludhiana, Amritsar and various other private hospitals,’’ he added and said that the number of patients and government Hospitals and in Private clinics has shown that the diseases spreading very fast in Urban and Sami Urban areas but the minimum government efforts in this direction are also not visible even in city areas which shows the total lack of concern by the Government to the serious situation. There are some cases including deaths on account of Swine flue also, which is also a matter of concern, he expressed. ‘’Before the situation goes of control, the government should wake up and involve the entire machinery and resources to deal with the situation, otherwise the Government would be solely responsible for the loss of precious live,’’ demanded the Congress man.
