Interactive e-session held at JIPMER to honour World Glaucoma Week

JIPMER, Puducherry on 13 March conducted an interactive session on Glaucoma to honor World Glaucoma Week, observed in the second week of March every year.
The 64th Interactive session of the “The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) Health Education Initiative” held on 13 March, focused on the topic “Glaucoma”. According to a JIPMER release,over 300 people including students from various colleges, Anganwadi Workers, JIPMER Staff and General public participated in the session.
Every year “World Glaucoma Week” is observed on the second week of March. Keeping in mind this year’s theme “Big Beat Invisible Glaucoma”, the programme focused on creating awareness about early detection of glaucoma and prevention of irreversible blindness from glaucoma. It was addressed by eye-specialists. The session was live telecast to all Medical Colleges of South India, under National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through JIPMER Regional Resource Centre.
