India-born Doctor Rohit Shankar gets Queen Elizabeth New Year Award

India-born Dr Rohit Shankar, a noted Neuro Psychiatrist Consultant working with the British Government has been honoured with 'New Year 2018 Queen Elizabeth Award'.
The doctor, who had his higher studies at NIMHANS in the city, is working at Turro-based Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and has been providing service for people with learning disablities and epilepsy.
The 43-year old is the son of Mr Vidyashankar and Ms Jayashri living in Mysuru and has won many awards for his services. He has been working in developing a free evidence based tool supporting Clinicians in discussing risk with their Epilepsy patients during consultations and epilepsy reviews. It considers risk factors associated with epilepsy mortality, including (but not restricted to) Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), according to information reaching here.
