Indra Gandhi Medical College(IGMC) will have ten new super specialty departments, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakesh Nadda announced while laying the foundation stone at Chamiyana here. 

Mr Nadda said in a press statement today that super specialty block have department of Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Medical Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Endocrinology, Plastic Surgery and Gastro unit. The Super Specialty Block shall have nine Operation Theatres, all of which shall be equipped with camera so that students could see live operation. It is a 280 bedded Block which comprises of 53 Intensive care unit or critical care beds and 30 Emergency beds. 

The Specialty Block would have nine floors with spread in 22,238 Square meter area overall cost for establishing this infrastructure is Rs 213 crore (Rs 160 crore is construction cost and Rs 53 crore is for Medical equipments).
