IGMC registers second case of swine flu this year

Indra Gandhi Medical College, Shimla registered its second case of swine flu as a woman died in the hospital on April 10 morning, a senior medical officer said.
Senior Medical Superintendent Janak Raj has mentioned that a 47-year-old woman, belonging to Khelni area of Shimla, died at IGMC at 07:40 hrs. She was admitted at IGMC on April 8, tested positive for fatal swine flu as analysis report came on April 9. He said this was second positive case of H1N1 virus, however, IGMC had conducted more than 100 test for the deadly fever this year. First case of H1N1 was detected on March 24 as a 20-year-old tested positive in the hospital.
He said nearly 250 cases of HINI were registered last year in the state and it took lives of more than 20 people. The advised the people that they should immediately rush the patient at IGMC if they found any symptoms of swine flu. The state was providing free treatment for the deadly disease and all essential drugs are available in the Hospital.
