HP govt to recruit 100 doctors: Health Minister

Himachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Ayurveda and Science and Technology Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that state government was committed to providing qualitative, cost effective and easily available medical facilities to the people of the state.
Besides, to provide better health care services, the government would also recruit 100 medical officers to fill up vacant posts in health institutions of the state. Earlier, the Minister also conducted surprise inspections at Civil Hospital Kandaghat and Regional Hospital Solan on Tuesday. Talking to mediapersons, after inspection, Mr. Parmar said that the present state government was determined to provide best health facilities at the door step of the people and concerted efforts were being made to achieve the target.
The Minister said he himself was meeting patients in different hospitals of the state and was visiting medical colleges to ascertain the ground realities. The state government was in the process of filling vacant posts of doctors and para medicos in different hospitals, including regional Hospital in Solan. Hundred doctors were being appointed in the state.
He said that government would consider establishing level three Trauma Centre in Solan to cater to the needs of people of Solan, Sirmour and parts of Shimla districts. About 200 Jan Aushdhi centers would also be established soon in the state. He said that Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical Collage and Hospital was authorised to conduct post-mortems by the government.
Later, he also inspected Civil Hospital Kandaghat and the site of new hospital at Kandaghat was proposed to be constructed. He also inspected Central Food Testing Laboratory Kandaghat and various wards and labs in Regional Hospital Solan. He also interacted with patients in the hospital and asked their well being. The Minister directed acting CMO Solan and Medical Superintendent of hospital to ensure the proper sanitation inside the hospital complex, failing which stern action would be initiated against the erring officials.
