Himachal Pradesh cardiologist awarded prestigious FSCAI

Dr Mukul Kumar Bhatnagar, Assistant Professor Department of Cardiology, Dr Rajinder Prasada Govt. Medical College Tanda has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI) in the ceremony held at Washington DC, USA recently.
Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal DRGMC Tanda, on May 30 mentioned that this prestigious Society was established in 1978 and has around 4000 member cardiologists all over world. This fellowship is a mark of excellence among interventional cardiologists along with FACC and FESC, he disclosed. Dr Awasthi said that Dr Mukul from the department of cardiology is credited with starting interventional cardiology at Dr RPGMC, Tanda since 2013. He said before that patients from western part of Himachal Pradesh had to undergo these procedures in IGMC, Shimla or PGIMER, Chandigarh or in private sector.
He said that now the department is doing non invasive procedure like Echo, TMT, Holter along with invasive procedure like pacemaker insertions, Coronary angiographies and angioplasties as well as Electrophysiological studies and radiofrequency ablations.
Dr Bhanu Awasthi congratulated Dr Mukul on his success.
