Health team detects 12 cases of Dengue larva in Jalandhar

As part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases under the 'Tandarust Punjab Mission' in the district, the anti-larva cell of the Health department and the Municipal Corporation on July 28 detected 12 dengue larva cases in different areas of the city.
Four teams led by Balwinder Singh, Raj Kumar, Gurvinder Bajwa and Gurpal Singh inspected the areas in Guru Nanak Pura, Old Baradari, Navi Baradari, Main Post Office and the hostel of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden. During checking, the teams visited 250 houses, 52 waste containers and 92 air coolers. The members also distributed 3000 chlorine tablets among the people. The team members also held detailed interaction with the people during which they apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
